Process · Large projects

How we run large web and e-commerce projects.

Large projects rarely fail because of technology. They fail because of unclear expectations. That is why we work in eight phases with one clear deliverable per phase: at any point you know what is finished, what comes next and what you are asked to sign off.

Eight phases, eight deliverables.

Each phase ends with a tangible result that you review and approve. Only then do we move on.

For tenders and RFPs.

We respond to RFPs and formal tenders. On request we provide a technical concept and a reference architecture so that your procurement or IT department can assess our approach on its merits before awarding a contract.

The requirements specification (Pflichtenheft) from phase three is deliberately structured to serve as a contractual basis: scope, interfaces, acceptance criteria and milestones are fixed in writing before development begins.

After acceptance, the code belongs to you.

The source code is 100% yours. It lives in a Git repository to which you have full access, including a traceable history of every change. There are no proprietary site builders and no dependency on us: any competent team can take over the project and keep developing it.

Security & data protection.

No badges, no buzzwords: only commitments we actually keep in day-to-day project work.

GDPR-compliant implementation

Data protection is planned in from the start: data minimisation, clear consent and proper commissioned data processing.

DPA on request

We provide a data processing agreement (German: AVV) on request, tailored to the services in use.

TLS throughout

All connections are encrypted over HTTPS, from every form to every interface.

Backups

Regular backups of code and content, so that a mistake does not turn into data loss.

Accessibility in practice

We build projects to WCAG 2.1 AA: semantic HTML, keyboard operation, sufficient contrast.

Exit without lock-in

Code handover is part of the process. You can continue with another team at any time.

We specialise in large web and e-commerce projects. For small websites we are happy to recommend colleagues.

If your project is a migration away from WordPress, our page on the WordPress-to-Next.js migration in Vienna shows the process in detail. And to see how a maintenance contract keeps you covered even over the summer, read our SLA checklist for agency contracts.
